Beauty Point

The township of Beauty Point is where the first deepwater berths were established on the Tamar River. The original Beauty Point wharf has now been demolished and in its place the practical training school of the Australian Maritime College was built. Here, world recognised fisheries and seamanship courses are conducted. The complex houses 100 live-in students and has three training vessels. A modern marina has been developed with good launching ramps and berths for 50 pleasure craft.
WHAT TO SEE AND DO
Seahorse World and Platypus House are located on Inspection Head Wharf. Shuttlefish Ferry and River Cruises, port facilities, golf at nearby Greens Beach, bowling club and a yacht club. Picnic area and public toilets are located on the Esplanade at Beauty Point.
