DISTANCES: Launceston 24Km

An important fruit growing area, Exeter serves a large rural district.

Five km south of Exeter is Brady’s Lookout, a high rocky outcrop frequented by the notorious bushranger, Matthew Brady. He used this point to spy on the movements of troops and ‘likely prospects’ travelling to and from Launceston. Brady’s Lookout has been developed by the Beaconsfield Bicentennial Committee and it offers fine panoramic views of the Tamar Valley with toilet and picnic facilities.

Tamar Visitor Information Centre now provides booking facilities for accommodation and attractions throughout Tasmania. The Centre also has a vast showcase of local products and souvenirs for sale. Open 7 days Phone (03) 6394 4454.
