This small township lies 4 km off the main highway at the foot of St Marys Pass. The area including Four Mile Creek beyond Falmouth is popular with fishermen and holiday makers. The coastline varies from safe sandy beaches to rocky headlands.

A tourist road links Falmouth with Chain of Lagoons, thus bypassing the narrow, winding roads of Elephant and St Marys Passes.
