Jericho is a very early settlement (1816).

Visit the Jericho Cultural & Heritage Centre at St James Church. The grave of the first Australian-born soldier to win the Victoria Cross, Colonel Bisdee, lies in the churchyard.

Old Jericho Road contains interesting convict constructions, stone walls, bridge, culverts etc (1839-42).

The site of The Probation Station (1840), which housed over 200 convicts working on the road can be viewed.

The paddocks to the left of the station originally known as ‘Fourteen Tree Plain’ was the site of the first horse race in the state in April 1826.
