Rocky Cape
View Location Map
The district takes its name from nearby Rocky Cape National Park, appropriately named by Matthew Flinders in 1798.
Several caves have yielded evidence of aboriginal settlement and important middens and artefacts have been thoroughly investigated by anthropologists in recent years.
Much of the Cape is now a flora and fauna reserve and is said to contain the widest variety of orchids in the State.
A tavern is situated near the Rocky Cape turn-off, caravan and camping facilities.
