Used to be the eastern-most terminus of the rail network and the St Marys railway station site has a number of significant features associated with rail history.

Travelling north the road passes through the St Marys pass towards St Helens and south through Elephant Pass with many spectacular mountain and coast views.

Views from South Sister lookout, St Patricks Head, St Marys Pass Falls Forest Reserve, Old Coal Mine workings, in January-New Years Day races.
