The world famous Shot Tower is one of Tasmania’s most historic landmarks and was completed by Joseph Moir in 1870 and is situated on three and a half hectares of beautiful country. The residence and museum date back to 1835 and 1855, respectively. The museum was originally the workshop and has an extensive range of exhibits on display.
The museum, Shot Tower, art gallery and grounds are open for inspection and a modern amenities block has been provided for the convenience of visitors. There are extensive scenic views over the Derwent estuary from Bonnet Hill.
