Weldborough

Once known as Thomas Plains, Weldborough was the scene of considerable tin mining activity. Tasmania’s Chinese labour force of 1900 made Weldborough their headquarters.
The Weldborough Pass, with its spectacular mountain scenery and dense rain forests, is traversed on the main highway between Scottsdale and St Helens. The town’s hotel retains an old-time atmosphere.
