The Van Diemen’s Land Co. had its beginnings with a Royal Charter issued in 1825. Their ‘Woolnorth’ property, on the far North West coast of Tasmania is the last remaining property owned by the Van Diemen’s Land Company, it includes several buildings which date from the 1830’s including the old gaol and restored cook house cottage.

Cape Grim, site of Australia’s Air Monitoring Station, is also on the property and overlooks magnificent coastal scenery. Tasmania’s largest Wind farm is also situated on the property. Tours, either full or half day, are run daily taking in historic farm buildings, Cape Grim with its aboriginal history, the wreck of Colliboi beached in 1932 and either morning tea or lunch are served at the Directors Lodge.
